The really obvious difference between these two digital reading gadgets available to buy at the moment is that one only works in the US while the other works in over 100 countries around the planet. If you make your bed somewhere besides the US (or if you are a US citizen who frequently travels to other countries) then that makes your decision (such as it is) clear; You have to buy the Global Kindle.
Besides that very important distinction, the biggest difference between the two is that of their sizes. The Kindle DX Electronic Reading Gadget is far larger as far it’s display size and how much memory it has. It is also much larger as far as it’s priceis concerned (as of now the DX costs more than $200 more than the Global Kindle.)
While the DX is 9.7 inches, the Kindle with Global Wireless is just 6 inches. The larger screen is particularly helpful when reading a digital newspaper On the other side, the smaller size of the regular version can make it more easy to take with you.
There is also a big difference as far as memory. The Kindle DX Electronic Reading Gadget can hold over 3000 books, magazines, & newspapers while the other version can hold approximately 1,500 books. But really, who has more than 1,500 books?! I have a very hard time imagining that this huge amount of space that the DX has is necessary for the majority of customers.
Another difference between these devices is the auto-rotating screen that the DX has.The DX also has a built in PDF reader that the smaller version does not have.
Both kindles have access to about 350,000 books, newspapers, and magazines which can all be bought for lower prices than their paperback alternatives.
Both kindles have a built in “text to speech” program which can turn all of your books into audio books.
Neither of these electronic reading devices have any monthly charges to worry about. The wireless service is provided a lot like the wireless service for GPS navigational systems.
Both devices have a very basic built in web browswer that lets you check out websites from anywhere. It should be noted that this browser is designed for text based sites like Wikipedia and blogs.
They both have a “no glare” display that “reads like paper.” If you are concerned that reading this will be like reading your computer’s screen then don’t be! It’s not like that at all.

But as it turned out I was flat out wrong about that. Amazon has had a huge amount of success with the Kindle. Part of that success is explained by the fact that these digital reading gadgets actually don’t have any problem with “glare.” Instead they “read just like a paper book.” Plus they also have another feature that’s really amazing; they can use text to speech technology to actually read your books to you! This turns all of your books into audio books. How cool is that?
And then I went to The Kindle Store to see what could be downloaded and I was amazed by the huge selection. There are over 350,000 books, magazines, and newspapers available to download and it only takes 60 seconds to download an entire book!
On top of the huge selection that is available for the Kindle, I also noticed that the prices for the download versions of these books were far lower than the paperback prices. It was then that I realized that the Kindle isn’t only a really convenient way of carrying around all of your books with you wherever you go, it’s also a way of saving money in the long run on book buying!
Through October of 2009 the Kindle eBook reader had been only available to Americans. Now with the release of the great Kindle EBook Reader with Global G3 Wireless that not the case any longer! This amazing reading device works in over 100 countries around the world with cellphone technology. I know you must be thinking: “But how much does the wireless service cost?” The answer is nothing! It’s just like with GPS. Once you own your Kindle, that’s it. There are never new bills to pay.
