This New eBook Book Reader From Acer Set to Join Kindle
Acer., no slouch when it comes to competing in the P.C arena, plans to be in the KEY ebook book reader WORD arena soon this year.
Acer executive Jim Wong, president of the company’s IT Goods branch, outlined the plans through an interview with Bloomberg at Acer’s HQ in Taipei.
The day before Apple’s purported entry into the tablet sweeps-a device that will serve ebook readers plus others-Wong also said the company will furthermore present “hundreds” of apps online, programs that should sustain Google’s Android program, at the present running on more than a few Acer goods, over and above having support for Microsoft’s Windows OS.
By July, Acer is expected to announce an electronic-book reader with a 150 mm black and white screen, Mr. Wong informed Bloomberg. “Amazon.com, B&N; they are US based. In Europe and Australasia we have publishers to work with, and the majority of them are content owners,” he said.
